Our self-catering cottage accommodation, La Petite Maison is located in the Deux-Sevres Department of Poitou-Charentes, the sunniest region in Western France. This self-catering cottage is situated amidst the small hamlet of Jussay and surrounded by rolling French countryside, just 10 kms north-west from the medieval town of Parthenay.

The towns of Bressuire and Thouars both famed for historical chateaux are just a short drive away. The pretty village of Amailloux, 2 kms north (route N149) provides a baker/patisserie, hairdresser, garage, bar/restaurant and all other conveniences.

This self-catering cottage accommodation can be easily reached via all major routes and is within equidistant driving distance from Niort (route A10) and Poitiers (route N10). Your route planning and driving directions can be sent on confirmation of booking.


Places of interest around the cottage

Beautiful medieval town of Parthenay, capital of the Gatine, is just a short drive away from our holiday cottage. Historical and picturesque town encircled by granite fortifications. 'St. Jacques Quarter & Citadel' combine to make an interesting sightseeing venue.

Le Marais Poitevin, boating on 600 kms of navigable canals & rivers. Boat cruises as well as boat hire facilities are available. In addition, cycle hire is an option for the more energetic.

La Rochelle steeped in history. Lovely harbour with three medieval towers, granite fortifications and cobbled streets. There are many good harbour-side seafood restaurants and beautiful beaches with swimming areas.

Just 2 kms south of our holiday cottage accommodation, there is 'Vergiers of Viennay' (Fruit growers of Viennay) with 100's of acres of plantations of almost every type of fruit. Anyone can go to pick these amazing fruits for themselves.
